Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556) was the founder of a religious Order that sent Priests to North America on missions to evangelize the Amerindians. Saint Ignatius was a Spanish Catholic theologian and Priest who dedicated his eventful life to being a soldier for God and leader of the Jesuits.
